Nebraska

We're in Nebraska!  The travel was uneventful, which is always good.  We picked up our SUV in Omaha and drove to St. Paul and visited with my grandmother for about an hour and a half.  She looked great, had lots of energy, and even fed the kids and Ken brownies and ice cream.  It was such a great visit.  I wished we could have spent more time, but we really wanted to get to Broken Bow by dinner time.  Hopefully, Grandma will come and stay with us sometime next week in Bow so we get more time to visit and get to play cribbage, too.

I didn't get a walk in today due to all the travel.  My finger/hand swelled quite a bit from the plane.  I only wore the glove but I should have wrapped it with the whole initial 3 step wrap thing.  I will do that on the way home.  I spent the drive to St. Paul, time at Grandmas, and the time driving to Bow doing the massage process to try to siphon the liquid out of my hand. The kids and Ken helped too.  We got it down significantly, thank goodness.  So it's pretty much back to normal.

Day 34 of South Beach Diet
Breakfast: 3 mini spinach quiches
Lunch: the roast beef out of 2 Arby's regular roast beef sandwiches
Snack: almonds
Dinner: cheeseburger with no bun, spinach salad with hard boiled egg, and bacon (no dressing), and a few pickles
Snack: a few soy nuts
Drink:  water all day, 1 Sprite Zero, 1 glass of red wine

Tonight after dinner we met our close friends, Michelle and Jim (classmates) and many local friends we have rung in the new year with for a couple years.  It was really a great evening - what a fun group!  Tomorrow night is the informal class reunion meet-up.  Then on Saturday we have the more organized event.  Lee Ann and the kids will arrive tomorrow evening.  Good times!
